Independent business Martha and Hepsie have announced Sheffield Hospitals Charity are the chosen charity of the year for the Gift Wrap That Gives campaign.

Martha and Hepsie is run by two sisters and everything they make is designed by them in Sheffield and produced in the UK.

The Gift Wrap That Gives campaign is celebrating its seventh year and it dedicates 10% of all profits from the sales of Martha and Hepsie gift wrap on both their website and Etsy store. This year they have chosen to support Sheffield Hospitals Charity after their own personal experience of Sheffield’s NHS.

Martha, co-owner and designer of Martha and Hepsie, said:

“In 2023, we lost our beloved mum after a courageous 4-year battle with dementia. Throughout this challenging period, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals played an integral role in her care and comfort. We were in and out of hospital a lot and the staff provided a huge amount of care. Until you experience that care yourself, I think people don’t realise how much love and energy the staff give.

As a two-woman band we can’t guarantee how much this will raise but we will do what we can to raise awareness. We like to add optimism to the everyday through our designs and after the care the hospitals gave through a really testing time, we felt it would be a full circle of giving and kindness. Our customers can enjoy beautiful high-quality original designs knowing they are also giving to a charity that helps those when they need it most.

We have both always had a mentality of kindness and wanting to give back within the business which is how we first came up with the Gift Wrap That Gives campaign. Each year we think about where we want to donate and after our own experience, we wanted to give back to Sheffield’s NHS who provided immense support during a challenging time.”
