Sheffield Hosptials Charity

About us

Sheffield Hospitals Charity is the official NHS charity that helps patients being treated for almost every condition across all the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals sites.

The Charity’s core mission is to enhance the care and treatment of patients using our hospitals by raising funds and making grants to support areas beyond the scope of NHS funding.

With the generous support and hard work of our donors and fundraisers, we invest more than £2 million each year into four key areas;

  1. Enhancing patient care and family support by providing those extras that help make being in hospital more bearable
  2. Improving the hospital environment to provide a more welcoming and attractive space for staff, patients and their families
  3. Providing state-of-the-art specialist medical equipment that can reduce treatment time and improve outcomes for patients
  4. Supporting pioneering research into the cause, prevention and treatment of key illness – without research, breakthroughs in medical treatment wouldn’t be possible

We strive to provide a level of patient care beyond that which NHS funding alone can deliver at our five sites: Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital, Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Weston Park Cancer Hospital and Jessop Hospital. These hospitals see patients from all over Sheffield, the surrounding areas and often further afield as well

Our funds help to make life better and could potentially benefit you and your loved ones in the future. The chances are that you or someone close to you will receive treatment at one of our hospitals at least once in your lifetime.
