Thank you for considering a regular gift. By doing so through Direct Debit, you will be joining a special group of people who are supporting patients, and the staff of the NHS who care for them, today and every day. You’ll be supporting the doctors and nurses who give everything each day, month and year to ensure their patients received the very best care available, and you’ll help to provide world class care here in Sheffield.

Whatever amount you feel able to give each month, you’ll be doing something incredible for patients.

If you would prefer to complete your Direct Debit by post, please download a regular giving form here and and return it to us at:

However much you can give, it will make a real difference to patients and help the staff who look after them to provide that extra special level of care. Whether you choose to tell us where you would like your gift spent, or allow the NHS to spend it on the projects they feel will make most difference to patients today, you could be the person that allows that next incredible idea or project, suggested by nurses and doctors, to go ahead.

Making a donation or fundraising in memory of a loved one is a very special way of paying tribute and helping to make a real difference to patients in Sheffield.

We are extremely grateful for these donations, and to all the families and friends who fundraise, choosing to celebrate the life of their loved one in such a positive way.

There are several ways you can choose to honour a loved one:

  • Make a one-off donation
  • Request donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral
  • Do a sponsored activity or hold a tribute event in memory of your loved one
  • Set up an in memory fundraising page - online
  • Make a gift to the charity on special days (birthdays, Christmas)

Request donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral

Many families like to ask for donations instead of flowers at a funeral or memorial service. Your funeral director will be able to collect the donations and we can provide collection envelopes if you wish. Otherwise, donations can be made directly to us or online. Please just remember to let us know the name of the person you are remembering on any correspondence.

Do a sponsored activity or hold a tribute event in memory of your loved one

You might like to organise a fundraising or sponsored event to commemorate someone special. Our fundraising material will provide you with lots of information about setting up a sponsored event

In memory fundraising - online

The easiest way to collect sponsorship money is usually online using a site such as Virgin Money Giving or Just Giving. Once you have created your Sheffield Hospitals Charity page by selecting our logo you can use the space provided for you to write about the person you’re remembering (using words photo’s and video) explain why you are fundraising/donating in their memory.

Your friends and family can give to your page easily, safely and securely, wherever they are and whenever they would like to. Together you can create a lasting tribute in memory of your loved one.

When someone makes an In Memory page, a Collection page is automatically created. It brings together all the fundraising happening in memory of one person, making it easy to see friends and family who are also raising money.

Nearly half of the charity’s income comes from gifts left to us in wills. Making or changing a will doesn’t need to be complicated and can be relatively inexpensive. It also allows you to decide who has a share of your estate and that your last wishes are respected even when you’re not there to explain them.

Naturally your first priority will be to look after your loved ones, but you may find that there is room to leave a gift to charity. This doesn’t mean you have to be wealthy, any gift, whatever the size is valuable to us because it enables us to support more patients.

You can choose to leave a gift to our general fund and this will be used to fund areas we believe will deliver the greatest benefit to patients and their families. Alternatively you can donate to a specific ward or service that means the most to you.

Leaving a gift in your will today costs you nothing now, but could one day make a huge difference to patients in Sheffield.

For more information about leaving a gift for patients in your will download our will making guide.

We are incredibly grateful if you have remembered us in your will. If you would like to let us know, please complete this form and return it to us so that we can thank you and keep you informed of our future plans for the Charity.

Please feel free to contact us for further information or advice about leaving a gift in your will.

Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and Christmas are times for celebrating and giving gifts. Whatever the occasion, here are several ways you can use your celebration to help local patients.

  • Make a donation to the charity to mark the occasion
  • Include donation cards with your wedding invitations and ask your guests to make a donation to Sheffield Hospitals Charity instead of buying you gifts or as part of your gift list

Payroll Giving enables you to donate on a regular basis, directly from your pre-tax salary, meaning that your donation will cost you up to 50 per cent less.

You can donate from as little as £2 per month and this will help to provide a regular and reliable source of income for the Charity so we can plan better for the future as we know what money we will have available. It is a simple and easy process to set up, and provides a hassle free way to donate to us.
