NHS staff and Grants Staff at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals already provide outstanding care and treatment, but they are also full of brilliant ideas that help to make their service, ward or hospital even better. That’s why we work closely with hospital and community staff to ensure that they can access the funds they need, to make the improvements they know make the biggest difference to the lives of their patients. Raise funds for your ward, department or hospital Every year staff either take part in fundraising activities or organise their own to help raise money for their area of work. Some examples from last year include a ‘Call the Midwife’ themed bike ride to support our birthing pool appeal, taking part in our annual Walk for Wards event and holding tea parties to celebrate the NHS 70th birthday. Every month, your salary is rounded down to the nearest pound with the pennies donated to support patients and fellow staff across our local hospitals. The most you will ever donate is 99p every time you’re paid, but you'll be making a big difference to what we can do for patients and staff across our local hospitals! Next: Sign up to Pennies from Heaven Raise awareness of the charity where you work A lot of patients and families want to give something back to say thank you during or after treatment. By telling them about Sheffield Hospitals Charity and the work we do, we will make sure that their donation goes exactly where they want it to. We can provide you with information, materials and advice to help you spread the word among patients and colleagues. Having one of our fundraising tins on your ward is one of the easiest and fastest ways to increase awareness, it also brings in the donations that support our work. Next: Order charity materials here
