Sheffield Hospitals Charity and its sister charity, Neurocare, are calling out for thrill seekers to put their fears aside for a spooktacular Halloween fancy dress abseil at Magna Science Adventure Centre.

Fundraisers will take on Magna’s 150ft purpose built free abseil platform – jumping into free air, not scaling down a wall - in a bid to raise £100 for vital funds to support patients in Sheffield.

Fiona Prakasam, fundraiser at Sheffield Hospitals Charity and Beth Porter, fundraiser at Neurocare will be taking part in the event.

Beth said: Fiona and I are terrified of doing this abseil; it is way out of our comfort zone! So are calling out for others to join us, not only for moral support, but to boost our funds to enhance patient care in our city’s adult hospitals.

“Climbing the steps in Magna’s 150ft Face of Steel Building will be a daunting challenge in itself, however once at the purpose built abseil platform, our qualified instructor will put you at ease and explain the principles involved.

“It will be an exhilarating experience, and not one to be missed!”

The Halloween Fancy Dress Abseil will be held at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, on Saturday 3rd November.

Fancy dress is encouraged – the scarier the better.
