Iolanthe Fowler, GP and Clinical Director of Integrated Community Services at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, is taking part in Walk for Wards this September to raise funds to support patients and her fellow NHS staff.

Iolanthe said, "I am a GP and have worked as Clinical Director for Integrated Community Services at STHFT for almost 5 years. I am fundraising for the Directorate to help fund those extras that go a long way to help boost the wellbeing of staff and the people that we care for.

“Community staff, along with staff across the whole NHS have always been amazing, but the extra commitment and sheer grit that our people have demonstrated through COVID-19 has been so humbling. I have heard so many stories of staff going above and beyond to deliver exceptional personal care, because they care deeply about the people that they are providing services for.

“I am raising funds because I am proud to work for community services, proud of our staff, and want to give more to enable them to do more!

“From the 1st to the 10th of September I will be walking, running or cycling at least 10k a day – this will be a real challenge for me, so please sponsor me to make it worth my efforts!”

Iolanthe is raising funds on JustGiving and we want to help her to raise as much as possible to support her patients and fellow staff. So if you want to support Iolanthe and help your NHS at this challenging time, please donate here.

Walk for Wards is our annual sponsored walk that raises an average of £15,000 to support our local hospitals. Because of COVID-19, we're not able to host the physical event this year, so instead we're asking you to take on a sponsored walk wherever and whenever you like during September!
