Volta Creative asked the people of Sheffield to send in their quirky and original photographs of the city to be published in their Christmas Calendar, on sale now.

Each calendar costs £4 and all of the money raised will go directly to us to support patients being treated in Sheffield.

The idea came about from Creative Director Darren Pass, he explained: “As a company Volta Creative have produced a desk calendar for the last five years, which we give to existing and potential customers. This year we felt we needed an ‘angle’ to fire the Sheffield public’s imagination and quirky photos won.

"We’ve been looking for any unusual photo’s, strange angles, unusual places and funny situations. It will be interesting to see what comes our way.

“The reason we’ve chosen Sheffield Hospitals Charity is because my partner gave birth to our beautiful twins 10 weeks early and as a result, they spent the first three months of their lives in the Jessop Wing, and a lot of that time was in intensive care.

“Without the care and expertise of the specialist staff at Sheffield Hospitals, they wouldn’t be here and that’s a very scary thought.

“They are now both healthy young adults and have recently graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Manchester, but we still look back at those early days and realise how lucky we were.

"So I decided we should do something to try and help raise funds and awareness of what the charity does on a daily basis – and we thought we’d get creative. This is just one of the many ways the company and myself want to thank Sheffield's hospitals for everything they’ve done and continue to do.”

The winners have their name and picture published in the calendars which went on sale on November 1st and can be purchased in the Hub in the Huntsman Building, at the Northern General Website or online https://www.voltacreative.uk/quirky-sheffield-calendar/
