City Taxis Thank You NHS Gala Ball Event - A Night to Remember!

What a night!

We certainly did have a night to remember at the City Taxis Thank You NHS Gala Ball in partnership with Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this inaugural event. It was incredible for us to see the love and support from so many who gathered to give thanks to our wonderful NHS staff across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

We raised a staggering £140,001.30 thanks to the generosity of City Taxis and our guests who attended this very special evening.

Funds that were raised from the event will go to the Sheffield Hospitals Charity ‘We’ve Got You’ campaign dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our NHS staff across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals through various initiatives.

These initiatives include the evolution of ‘Calm Rooms’ to become spaces, not just for physical but also mental relaxation, the training of Wellbeing Champions across the hospitals and the funding of specialist ‘Schwartz Round’ forums for staff to share their conversations about the emotional impact of their work with psychologists.

We’ve had such wonderful feedback from our contributors.

Jean-Christophe Novelli loved being part of our night and the food most certainly had his signature attached. Flawless dance troupe were keen to surprise and delight guests in the room and we think they did just that! Martin Kemp made sure the dance floor filled in record time and Sheffield's own Dan Walker did an incredible job pulling everything together and hosting a thrilling live auction.

Throughout the evening five awards were presented, recognising the efforts, sacrifices and resilience of some incredible teams and individuals from across our Sheffield NHS.

Virology Team - NHS Team of the Year Award

Chris Bexon - The Volunteer of the Year Award

Emily Theaker - City Taxis Shining Star Award

Helen Boyle - COVID-19 Hero Award

Lisa Hague - Lifetime Achievement Award

We have some amazing photos from the night.
