Shaun Riley picked up his walking boots and set off on his fundraising journey to raise money for The Jessop Wing which saved his grandson Freddie who was born 14 weeks early.

Baby Freddie has been fighting every day and going from strength to strength since he was born on 11th March 2022. Freddie was born 14 weeks early - luckily, paramedics were quick to attend and care for Tiff when Freddie arrived. He was then taken to Sheffield's maternity hospital The Jessop Wing where he has been cared for by the superhero staff.

Shaun wanted to do something to help, and as Freddie was in an incubator and under the specialist care of The Jessop Wing doctors the feeling of helplessness overwhelmed him. So, he made the decision to dust off his walking boots and take on a fundraising challenge to raise money for the amazing work that The Jessop Wing does. He packed some gravy bones and set off on his journey of walking 400 miles in 100 days with the family Labrador, Nellie.

Shaun is coming up to his 100-day mark and he is on track for 400 miles. Freddie is now at home with his family. He has overcome hurdles and kept on fighting every day, he is now coming up to 18 weeks old.

Up to now, Shaun has raised a fantastic £1,080 for The Jessop Wing, he is set to finish his 100 days on the 21st of July. If you want to support Shaun and baby Freddie, you can do so here - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Shaun-Riley3
