Working in one of the country’s largest hospital trusts is no small task, and we want to acknowledge staff commitment to patient care by helping to provide a positive and supportive environment for them to flourish in.

Thanks to your generous donations, each year around 300 members of hospital staff are able to improve their existing knowledge, keep up to date with the latest medical advances and bring new developments in care from across the world back to Sheffield to benefit our patients.

Helping palliative care staff to help their patients

The Palliative Care teams at our hospitals deliver fantastic end of life care to around 800 new patients and their families every year. So that they can provide the very best support to those facing life-limiting conditions, your donations fund specialist training in pain management. This training allows staff to keep up to date about the latest developments and tools that ensure patients are as comfortable as possible.

We also recognise that the nature of delivering end-of-life care is an emotionally and psychologically demanding role. That's why we make sure that funds are also available for staff to attend resilience training and receive pastoral support, so that they continue to feel strong and healthy providing the highest level of care to those who need it.
