Before my kidney transplant I couldn’t run 1km, but thanks to my kidney donor and the outstanding care I received at our hospitals, I have been able to take on the Asda Foundation Sheffield 10k to raise funds and give something back. It took months of hard work and training with my friend and guide Trevor, as I am also registered blind, but it was a fantastic experience – next stop the half marathon!

Let's do something wonderful together

Whether you want to give something back to thank Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, you just want to support local patients or you are taking on a challenge and have recognised what a great cause this is, we'll support you all the way.

Whatever you choose to do, you'll be helping to fund specialist equipment, pioneering research, patient and family support services and the transformation of your local hospitals into more comfortable and welcoming environments.

Thank you!

Need some inspiration?

You may already have your own idea for how to raise money, but if not, we have hundreds of ideas, covering all sorts of events and challenges. We think it's wonderful that fundraising doesn't require any particular skills: all you need is enthusiasm to persuade your friends, family, colleagues and beyond to support you in whatever you choose to do.

We're excited to see what your ideas are, but we would also love you to join one of our events taking place throughout the year. You'll get to meet other fabulous supporters and, as we're doing the organising, you'll be able to focus on raising money!

Friends and family can also be a great source of ideas – and if they are as excited as you are about raising funds for Sheffield Hospitals Charity, you could even team up to make an even bigger difference! We've got some tips, too...

Fundraising materials

We have all sorts of other materials that might help you during your fundraising, such as t-shirts, donation buckets and tins get in touch to let us know what you need.

Let the world know!

You're doing an amazing thing and should let as many people know as possible. Not only will you hopefully attract more donations, but you'll also be spreading awareness of what we can achieve together.

Once you've set up your fundraising page, it will be easy for supporters to make a donation. All you need to do is to send them the link! We're on social media, too, so include us in your messages (@Sheffieldhospitalscharity on Facebook or @SHCFundraising on Twitter) and we'll be able to share your fundraising efforts with all our supporters.

If you're running an event, don't forget to promote it in the local area using posters and flyers. Remember to include the time, date, location, link to your fundraising page and the Sheffield Hospitals Charity logo. You can ask your local shops and businesses if you can display posters on their premises – they’re usually very happy to help!

Thank you!

We wanted to raise £25,000 because it is Marks and Spencer’s Meadowhall 25-year anniversary and to show our much loved colleague Pat that we support her whilst she receives treatment for myeloma. We put on all kinds of events from a trolley-dash, to bake sales and bag packing. More than 500 staff have taken part in raising this money. It’s been amazing
